Description:

First time doing an artwork using a medieval manuscript style.

The drawing prods about our economic activities, systems, and dilemmas; still foregoing for centuries yet still relevant.

For it is stoic in trade-offs; with the sense of equity/fairness but justice is undervalued for all desire to be in the highest but in this realm within the frames is not realistic to occur.

Just for reassurance, does it already look like a medieval manuscript (if you are familiar though) ? 😅

Just to share that I am somewhat fed up in terms of doing realistic artworks and I think I needed to find my own style but with some inspiration. In which I found in making medieval or renaissance style manuscripts. To disclaim, I made it a bit realistic (esp. in terms of outline unlike the ones common amongst early medieval manuscripts since realistic style is more of my forte and I strived for somewhat more of renaissance style of manuscript). Ofc, to make it relevant, I made sure that the art is in line with modern context and to be unique, adding my own style as much as possible.

Ergo, I am asking myself from thine advice if I should continue this style (sc. somewhat revival with a modern or unique twist)?

Also, I tried to be as traditional on the materials as possible, like using watercolour or gouache...but with modern art mats for convenience or monetary reasons and to ehance beauty like acrylic, gold pen in lieu of foil, wc pad instead of (parchment from lamb's or sheep's skin/pergamino), and colour pencil (esp. the metallic colours)

If you have any insights, kindly comment down below. Thank you for considering!
