DISCLAIMER: Apologies if may typo o bad grammar d2.

Starting at the age of about two/three, my parents discovered that I was able to draw the things I saw inside a church we went for the Holy Sacrifice. From what I remember, it was so sarcastic that I would draw girls/women as if they were in ballet. Sounds weird, right? I don't why I made such work. Just to note, a short background: I actually am aware that my family (both mother's and father’s sides), is quite talented when it comes to drawing in general. Just to share, the fact that my mum even desired to pursue fashion design, but she was discouraged by her older brothers since they pay her tuition and said that it was impractical. Also, this was the context of society back then, so in lieu, she pursues marketing and was successful enough. One time, when I was 6, my teacher was awed when I drew a dog well. By then, I graduated preparatory, being the best in art. Starting Grade School, I started joining art contests within the jurisdiction of our premises, and I usually win, mapa 1st o 2nd place man. Despite being bullied as 'gay' thought hindi naman tlga, (frankly, think this is because of my flight personality back then as such for advantage and the standard of being a conduct awardee ay may bias pagdating to the 'meekness'), I was reputable for winning art contests and if such, known to be quite good at it. Minsan to the point wherein my classmates ask for my help, either individual o group proj. By Junior High School, I still continued joining art contests. In addition, this was a prosperous time, since I was academically well and minsan, top 1 sa klase .Noong Grade 8, may nainggit pa sakin kaya binubully niya ako; pero sarcastically, sa labis na 'bakla', 'weirdo' naman pero honestly, totoo naman! (Long story, mahirap explain lmao.) Pero that did not stop me to fight and rise up in life! In our school kase, we had some Drafting subject, where we learn not only freehand art; but also some engineering and fundamental architecture....FOR HIGH SCHOOL!!! Nakakadread tlga lalo na yung 'arkitorture' HAHAAH. Lalo na sa plates at AutoCAD. Sa subject na iyon, I actually did quite well and may technical honours pa nga sa subject na yun nung grade 9 at 10. (Pero nadiscourage akong ipursue and STEM for arki dahil nawalan ako ng motivation at diskarte.) One moment, sa subject na iyon, pinasali kami nung aming teacher to join some contest within the vicinity of the school's city of Makati. (Muli akong nag-join sa said contest for the 2nd time pero walang napanalunan, pero I was still happy since I was given the opportunity to draw or create what I'm into at at least, NOT REJECTED OR DISQUALIFIED .) After so, yung napanalunan ko prize ay aking naggamit, except for the oil paint. Hindi ko alam kung anong gagawin dun so intially, I decided to sell it online pero walang may gusto. So napaisip akong itry itong medium at actually mas madali syang ma-learn as compared sa acrylic. And, hindi naman tlga nakakatakot gamitin yung medium. Just be careful lang with the solvents and yung CLEANING lang. By then, I became a president of an art club for 2 years in our school and good thing, I did well to raise its reputation and I became happy for being passionate of the arts. As of now, I have about 5 works in which I used oil as a medium to paint with. At present, I expanded my art skills/progress from colour pencils to digital. And, I started posting them online and I do videos sa YouTube. By that, I also attempted to include myself within art groups, most especially my first group, ART LOVERS PH. With the addition of being a member of its Parañaque and Las Piñas cluster. With all the things I've gone through, as young and in the beginning, I feel pretty happy and grateful to the all-omnipotent and metaphysically omnipresent God. Maraming salamat rin po sa mga sumoporta sa akin, most especially my family and parents, and my fellow artists, Sir/Mam Michael Moreno, Selle Olfato, et al. As an ABM student, pursuing to be a future financial lawyer, I really hope and dream to use my accountancy, business, law, and such skills to help other fellow artists to be financially well and legally protected for the arts.
To the others, I would just like to say that to find what you are happy with at & huwag susuko, despite the obstacles. Since, nobody is perfect and achievement will not determine it. Just like what happened to me, I was highest/top most of my class back then, pero wasn't fully happy; rather, stressed, pressured, kinakainggitan at weirdo; kaya sa art ko na lang dinaan ang balanse sa buhay at naging masaya naman ako overall pero excellent enough nmn grades ko, worry not....hehehe Over time, it will make you a stronger brush of art. Just as St. Thomas Aquinas wrote: “Happiness is man's true good. But it happens that fame or glory is false”[Summa Theologica, Part I-II (Pars Prima Secundae).] Kaya kung hirap at may nega ka sa buhay, try to find happines by spending your time doing art.
Gratias tibi ago and God love you!
Yours truly, Drey da Vasti
